1550 - Built by John MacSioda MacNamara
1650s - Abandoned to ruin by the removal of the roof, staircase and battlements during the Cromwellian confiscations
1820s - rebuilt as a summer house by Tom Steele
1840s - Castle in ruins again
1960s - Castle restored by John Hunt.
The castle is now part of Craggaunowen, a pre-historic park experience, where the history of the Celts from over 1000 years ago can be explored.
